Endovenous Laser Ablation Therapy (EVLT)

Endovenous laser treatment is a minimally invasive ultrasound-guided technique used for treating varicose veins using laser energy commonly performed by a certified professional or vascular surgeon. It uses radiofrequency or laser energy to cauterize (burn) and close the abnormal veins that lead to varicose veins. Endovenous laser ablation eliminates reflux with less morbidity, faster recovery, and improved cosmetic results with high patient satisfaction.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RF)

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins. During this process, the doctor uses heat to damage tissue, which makes scar tissue form. This scar tissue closes the vein. This technique uses radiofrequency energy (instead of laser energy) to heat up and damage the wall inside a vein. In some cases, this treatment can be paired with other vein-therapy options that we provide at Abacoa Podiatry and Leg Vein Center, including sclerotherapy.

Sclerotherapy (Injection of Spider Veins)

Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure, which is mainly used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. Sclerotherapy involves an injection of a solution (generally a salt solution) directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the blood vessel, causing it to collapse and stick together and the blood to clot. Sclerotherapy treatment is minimally invasive. The procedure also can improve related symptoms such as aching, swelling, burning and night cramps. Once treated with Sclerotherapy, the veins tend to fade within a few weeks, although occasionally it may take up to two months to see the full results. In some instances, several sclerotherapy treatments may be needed.

Varithena

Varithena is a treatment process which is used to treat the symptoms of Varicose Veins and enlarged veins. Varithena is a foam solution injected directly into the problem vein. The results are usually attained very promptly. It works much more quickly than similar varicose veins treatments that use a liquid base. Since it is minimally invasive and non-surgical, the whole procedure usually takes less than an hour. Varithena treatment is an excellent option for patients who are experiencing varicose veins and want a minimally invasive, safe alternative to surgery.

Vascular Diagnosis Testing

At Abacoa Podiatry and Leg Vein Center, we offer full diagnostic testing for vascular issues. Vascular Diagnosis Testing are tests that check the blood flow in your arteries and veins. These tests are noninvasive and they don't use any needles. Vascular Diagnosis Testing use high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to measure the amount of blood flow in your blood vessels.
